This is the perfect opportunity to trade in gently used women’s clothing that no longer serves you, and pick up some new-to-you pieces that spark joy. We love a sustainable way to refresh your wardrobe!

Here's how it works: drop off your gently used women’s clothing items, wardrobe accessories and shoes (clean and in good condition) prior to the event (choose a date and drop-off location at checkout), and we'll organize them by size and/or category for the event. A minimum of 10 pieces is required for entry.

Our Clothing Swap ‘n Sip is a great way to:

  • Find new-to-you clothes and accessories that fit your style

  • Reduce your environmental impact by giving your clothes a second life

  • Mix and mingle with like-minded women and form new connections

Jackie is a seasoned communications and marketing professional with over a decade of experience managing successful community-focused initiatives within the public, private and non-profit sectors. As a racialized woman in business, she understands the critical role anti-racism advocacy plays in advancing equitable outcomes for her kababayan (fellow country people) and the broader community.

In 2022, Jackie launched Tito Boy Restaurant, Winnipeg’s first south-end Philippine eatery offering traditional and fusion culinary creations. The business, named after her father Agustin “Tito Boy” Doming, represents the intersectionality of different generations and what it means to be a Philippine-Canadian in the modern era.

A champion of community building, Jackie serves as the President of the Manitoba Filipino Business Council, leading their vision to serve as the prime community resource hub for Philippine business people and professionals. In 2020, Jackie was named one of CBC Manitoba’s Future 40 recipients and featured in the Filipino Journal’s 20 Filipinos to Watch list.

Join us for our intimate Women & Wealth event as we aim to increase financial literacy among women and women in business. When it comes to finances, even in 2023 it often feels like a man's world, and we’re on a mission to change that. This event is being put on by women, for women and in addition to being informative, we’re going to have fun!

Dana Graham has been a Hustle + Charm member for over 5 years, and is an amazing Winnipeg realtor! She’ll be discussing the financial aspect of real estate and touch on topics like down payments, closing costs, seller fees, etc. – perfect information if you’re looking to sell or purchase your first or next home!

Dana's Bio

Dana is a Realtor & Team Lead in Winnipeg with the Graham Andersen Group at Century 21 Bachman & Assoc (phew that’s a long title!). Dana created the Donuts + Downpayments first time home buyer event to encourage young people to get better acquainted with home ownership and the process. Investing in property and home ownership is a strong investment strategy especially for women - Single women made up 17% of home buyers in 2019. 

Tip/opinion re: women & finances: Don’t be afraid to try new things. Investments can be viewed as a male dominated “interest/field” but my one tip would  to try, get our hands dirty, and learn from experience. Find an advisor that you trust and be fearless about what you want to invest in, whether it’s real estate or other investment strategies! 

Melissa Harrell is the principal advisor of McRae Wealth Management and Certified Financial Planner. After her presentation you’ll walk away with lots of information about making smart investments, and with a deeper understanding of TFSAs, RRSPs, stocks, bonds, and more.

A graduate of the Asper School of Business, and in the industry since 2009, Melissa is an advocate for not only financial literacy amongst women, but quality financial advice. She has two sons, a dog, and a passion for gardening.

Tip for women in finance: Be involved with your finances, whether you are in a relationship or not. Ensure your name is on all joint accounts, including bank accounts, and properties. Find an advisor you trust, and ask them as many questions you need to until you feel comfortable with your current financial situation and your future.

Canada's Ultimate Challenge airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC TV and CBC Gem. It follows 24 adventurous Canadians as they embark on a journey that transforms the country into an epic obstacle course. Six teams, each led by Celebrity coaches, compete in group, tandem, and solo challenges that showcase the beauty and diversity of the Canadian landscape. The coaches consist of notable Canadian high-performance athletes, including Olympians Donovan Bailey, Waneek Horn-Miller, Clara Hughes, Gilmore Junio and Jen Kish, and Super Bowl champion Luke Willson.

Winnipeg athletes Devon MD Jones, Dilpreet Bahattal and Alana Warnick will be joining us to share their journeys through the world of sports and fitness, advice for women looking to follow a similar career path or who need a little inspiration, and their experience of what it's been like competing on the show.

Congratulations on making it to 2023! These last few years have been a wild ride, but we’re prepared to help you make this your best year yet for business! We’ve gathered three experts to help you not only devise a strategic plan to ensure your business’ success, but to provide you with the tools needed to get the job done.

The morning will start with goal setting to help set the tone and expectations for the year. Goal setting with other entrepreneurs helps to fuel your creativity, and gives you the motivation and accountability to keep you on track.

Next, our founder and owner of Strategic Charm will show you how to create an online marketing strategy to help position you and your offers in front of the right clients and customers. Charmaine will take you beyond social media and show you how to incorporate other elements like blog writing, email campaigns and influencer marketing.

Our member Christina Kroeker will then help you create a custom workflow to help you be more effective and efficient in your day-to-day operations. Think of this as creating a daily/weekly/monthly calendar customized to suit your unique needs as you work. She’ll show you her method for creating a Sheet tracker to organize client work, admin tasks and all the odds and ends your business needs. By the end you’ll have a Google Sheet template that will help keep you organized and track your progress and business goals.

To finish off the morning, you’ll be striking a pose for our member Mandi Martin! These brand photos will provide you with clean, fun and professional imagery you can use to complement your online marketing, incorporate into print materials, use as headshots for speaking engagements and so much more. Trust us - you can never have too many photos!
